11 months and counting...

January has flown by and Henry is rapidly approaching his 1st birthday! I can't believe it's almost here! He has moved up to a big boy car seat (thanks everyone for the much needed Christmas present- that infant seat gets heavy!!) which he loves! He is able to kick the seat (legs like his daddy!), but we will be able to turn him around soon enough! I think his favorite thing about the carseat was the box it came in! It makes a perfect fort!

We went back to Island Playground a couple of weeks ago with our Tuesday morning playgroup and Henry had a great time. His favorite thing was to climb up the ramp on the big blowup, and of course to try and go back down. He is fearless when it comes to climbing up anything and going back down. He hasn't quite gotten the going back down part, but I'm sure he will soon enough!

For those of you that don't know Henry is taking steps! I think at most he's taken about 6, but he soon realizes that he is much more effective at crawling and drops down. He loves to push things, and has learned to clap (in his own special way), throw a ball (thanks to Mimi), and he has just started mimicking what you say. It usually turns out to be only the first sound, but that's a start! He can say mama, da, ball, whoa (which is what I say when he falls), and of course no-no. He has been so much fun to watch, and we can't wait to see what comes next!

A Recap of Christmas

Ok, I know I promised to be better at this, but by the time Henry goes to sleep I am worn out! Just wanted to fill everyone in on our holiday adventures! We had a wonderful time family hopping during Christmas... from Jeff's grandmama's to my grandma's to my parents, Jeff's aunts, and Jeff's parents. We got way more than we need, and are very thankful for every one's generosity. Some of Henry's favorites were books, a crawling tunnel, and door with all kind of gadgets. Some of our favorites were a sound machine that helps Henry to sleep soundly and money to get him his first Big Boy car seat! Thanks again for a great first Christmas! We had two days of normalcy in Bluffton before we packed back up again to spend New Years in Charleston with Dave, Alexa, Kert, Darcie, Peter, and Laura (Henry stayed with Mimi and Dede) We had a great time and it was fun catching up with old friends! To finish our weekend we traveled to Orangeburg for a Wannamaker family reunion. We are now safely home and enjoying the familiar sounds of Bluffton! Here are some of my favorite pictures from our travels...

Henry with his new table and chairs!

The best present you could ask for!

Henry with Mr. and Mrs. Clause (Nana and Grandpa)

He liked sitting on the presents more than he liked opening them.

A Citadel Family! (Citadel Alumni and children)

One of my favorites! (Henry with his Da)
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's!
