P-15s

Yesterday we took Henry to his first P-15 game. P-15's is a legion baseball team in Sumter that Jeff's uncle coaches. I am embarrassed to say it was our first game of the season and it was the last game of the tournament that sent Sumter to the state play-offs. Henry had a great time learning baseball lingo from his cousins, enjoying ballgame treats, singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame, and high-fiving the players in the dugout. His favorite part of the night however, was running the bases on the field at the end of the game. I thought for sure after a couple of times he would get tired and stop, boy was I wrong. I stopped counting his rounds after he made it around 6 times, stopping to slide into home like his cousins, Tyler and Dylan. We were the last ones to leave the field after they turned the lights out on us, and Henry left thrown over my shoulder screaming "one more time!" It was a long night, but very memorable!

Jeff used to play 1st base for the P-15's and his name is on a brick outside of the stadium. Henry is pointing it out.

4th of July

Every year we have a girls' beach week at Surfside with my sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, and the kids. The men come on the weekends. We usually do a week in June, but this year we did July 4th week so the men could stay an extra day.

We had great weather at the beginning of the week and lots of beach and pool time. We also saw the BEST fireworks I have ever seen. We made a day of the beach and stayed out until dark. You would not believe the amount of people that did the same. The fireworks were amazing and lasted well over 2 hours. Henry went to sleep early last year, so this was his first real firework show. He wasn't fazed by the noise, instead enjoyed oohing and aahing and yelling out the colors he saw. He even had his first sparkler experience. The week was great and we can't wait for next year!
