15 for 15

This past Tuesday Henry turned 15 months! In honor of this, I will amuse you with 15of Henry's fav's and most recent discoveries. Welcome to the life of our little toddler!

Henry loves...
1. to make the car noise (broooom, broooom) at every car or any type of machine he thinks should make this noise)

2. loves kisses and hugs. He will kiss anyone and loves to give hugs especially from behind. We call them backwards hugs and he will tackle you from behind!

3. Eats like a madman! He loves his nacks (snacks)! Blueberries (boos) strawberries (berries) and bananas (nanas) rank really high on his list.

4. Books! He will have you read the same thing over and over. He loves to sit down and flip through books on his own too!

5. The beach! We (maybe more me) have definitely turned him into a beach baby! He loves the sand, and will sit down in the water despite the temperature!

6. Being side (outside). He will go to the back door and reach for the handle and yell Side, Side!

7. His Da. When Jeff calls during the day. I'll say I wonder who that is and he'll say Da. Whenever the phone rings he always thinks it's Da! He loves to run to the door and greet him when I tell him Jeff is home.

8. His Yake. Lake, our dog, has not always been the friendliest to Henry (by knocking him over or running away when he comes near) but Henry loves his Yake.

9. Kate. Mary Kate the little girl we watch is his favorite little buddy. He yells for Kate (in a really funny deep voice) all the time. I think he thinks every girl's name is Kate.

10. And how could I forget his ball. Besides ma and da this was his first word and to this day probably the one that is heard most often. He will grab a ball and throw it at you unexpectedly while screaming the word Ball! He is now associating Bat Bat with ball too. I know Jeff is proud!

Things we're learning...
11. He knows most of his animal sounds, Neigh being his favorite. If he forgots one, or is in a hurry and doesn't want to play your little game, he always says neigh.

12. I just recently bought him flash cards with object and colors and he knows so many of them already! His favorite colors to say right now are yellow and purple and when you show him a picture of a snake he hisses, but not with his mouth through his nose.

13. We have just introduced coloring to him. I bought him some really cool markers that only write on this certain kind of paper, and so far no messes. He is starting to get the hang of it, but I will admit they go into the mouth more than on the paper.

14. He is learning to memorize things from his favorite books and comment when appropriate. He has a book about a dog that gets into a lot of trouble and on certain pages he'll say "oh oh" and dad dog (bad dog).

15. This last one is more recent and funny. I'm not quite sure this is true, and have not witnessed it myself, and Jeff will probably get really embarrassed, but Jeff said he has now taught him the Rick Flair "whoo" Interesting...

Ok, I know this is long and most of you probably aren't as excited or care as much as we do, but just thought I would fill you in on who little Henry is.

I promise I won't do this every month! I just got a little carried away...

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Last Couple of Weeks

Once again I am being really slack about this! I'm trying to think of a good excuse right now, but I really can't!

Ok, let's see, I do have pictures, but not of everything we've done lately. These are really old, but for Mother's Day the kiddos decided to make their moms kitchen towels with their special mark. They turned out really cute, and I think the moms were happy! A couple of Fridays ago (I don't have Kylee on Fridays) it was a nice day, so Mary Kate, Henry, and I went on a nice walk in our new stroller and decided to swing on the swings. They loved being outside and enjoyed the closeness of sitting together in the stroller (for now!)

Mother's Day was great for me. Jeff and Henry got me some nice ferns and cushions for the back deck, and a new running hat. Very sweet, and just what I wanted! Good job guys! We went home to celebrate our own mothers. We had a nice time at my house on Sat. morning for breakfast, and enjoyed being at Jeff's on Sunday for lunch. Henry got to see a lot of his cousins that he hasn't seen in a while. He is now able to run right along with them! It was a great trip!

Last weekend, my mom came to watch Henry and Jeff and I headed to Charleston to watch the Citadel play CofC. Jeff's cousin, Richard plays for the Citadel, and is AWESOME. The weather was perfect, and Richard started the game hitting two doubles! It was nice to be away and know Henry was in such great hands! Thanks Mom!

We are excited to say that this weekend will be spent in Bluffton!! It's nice to go, go, go, but it's really nice to enjoy the place where you live!

Beach, Beach, and more Beach

It's been a while. Jeff and I had a little change of plans for our little getaway- for the better! We decided at the last minute to go to Jeff's parents condo in Surfside for the whole weekend! We left on Friday night after my mom got here and got there a little late, but waking up Sat. morning there was well worth it. It reminded me of my friend Erica's post, The Perfect Day. It really was the perfect day! I went for a long morning run, while Jeff slept in, then hit the beach all by myself for four hours. Haven't done that in a while and it felt GREAT! Jeff and I ate lunch and then went shopping, came back and got ready, watched a really good game between the Red Sox and Yankees, and had a great dinner! We had a lot of quality time together! We did miss Henry, but it was a much needed getaway!

Henry and I had some quality time of our own this past weekend! We went to the beach in HH Sat. morning with 4 other moms and 5 other kids! He had a great time playing with his truck, digging holes, throwing the ball, and splashing in the surf! The weather was perfect and all the kids had a blast! The hole was the best part. If you don't want your kids to run off at the beach. Dig a hole! They were really muddy at the end, but extremely entertained! Nice thinking Nilla!

Oh, one more thing! Our good friends from church, The Hutchings had an extra double stroller, and offered it to us this weekend! Obviously with 3 it won't come in handy everyday, but Friday I have just two and it will be great to get out of the house! Thanks Heather and Jonathan!

Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather, I know we are! I feel like summer is coming early, and I LOVE it!!
