Henry-isms

Henry has been quite funny lately. Here are just a few incidences I can recall that made me laugh out loud.

Story #1
Henry had to go to the doctor for his two year check-up. He was going to see a family friend of the Jones' and Jeff's mom was prepping him for the visit. She was telling him all about the doctor, how nice he was and how he loved baseball. Here is the conversation Jeff had with Henry that night.

Jeff: Henry did you go to see the doctor today?

Henry: nodded his head yes

Jeff: How was he?

Henry: He was a good man.

Story #2
Henry was playing cars and I was talking to him in the playroom.

Me: Henry I love you.

Henry: I love you too, Mama. (something he says often that I love to hear so I always ask him)

Me: Henry do you love Jesus?

Henry: I do love Jesus. (He thinks awhile and then says...) Where is Jesus?

Me: Jesus live in your heart Henry. Do you know where your heart is?

Henry: (He looks down at his chest) Can I see him?

Me: You can see him when you go to heaven.

Henry: (He looks at me a while and then says..) Does he like to play cars?

Me (laughing): Yes, Henry I bet He does!

Story #3
Tonight during our bedtime routine:

We always sing a few songs together after we pray and read books. Tonight he looked at me in the midst of singing and covered his hand to my mouth and said, "Please don't sing that, mama" I looked at him and laughed and said what do you want to sing. He said I want to sing about cheese. So we did...

Whirlwind

These last few weeks have been incredibly packed! I feel like I don't have time to check my email much less sit down to blog. Things have been going good, but there has been a lot going on. Jeff was out of town for two weeks so Henry and I were determined to fill our days to pass the time he was away. We were on a mission to find things to do that would take the place of the things we had grown used to in Bluffton. Success! We have gone to our local library story time, visited several playgrounds, attended The Core (an educational indoor activity center for kids)-where you leave them by the way- (I don't think I have had an hour to myself in quite a while), playdates with cousins, too many birthday parties to count (not kidding since we have been here we have attended 4 including Henry's and one we were not able to go to), and traveling to Myrtle Beach to visit Jeff. Today I am going to a women's bible study and signing Henry up for preschool for the Fall. He will attend twice a week for 3 hours. I am probably going to take him to Mom's Morning Out on Fridays until then at the same church so he gets used to the idea. He has become very clingy lately and goes crazy when you leave him anywhere. Hopefully this will help! Jeff's dad has started coaching baseball again at a local highschool and we have had fun going to the games and throwing the ball to imitate the players. No news on our house yet. Apparenty it has been shown plenty, but no offers. We have been looking a little here, but nothing exactly like we want yet. I know God will put all of these pieces together at just the right time for us! I promise I will get better with the camera and post new pictures of what's going on soon!

Not so long ago...

Happy Birthday, Henry!

Henry turned two a few weeks ago and will tell anyone that he is now 2! He says I'm older now mommy when we talk about him being 2. He is FULL of energy, loves the outdoors, enjoys saying hey to everyone he meets, still obsessed with any kind of sports ball, is making his own choices when it comes to what he eats or what he wants to play, has an amazing vocabulary along with a memory like no one I know. There are disadvantages to being 2 as well, like the word NO, but we won't focus on those. Henry is a joy to be around and loves to entertain. He isn't interested in sitting still and loves to be on the go. We definitely have our hands full, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Henry had a train party at Mimi and Dede's house in Sumter and invited all of his cousins. It was a perfect and the kids enjoyed playing games outside. I stole a cookie decorating idea from my friend Sarah and it was a hit. The kids decorated train cookies with icing, sprinkles, and candy and didn't even eat them! Being outside was the biggest treat though! Henry was worn out by the end and naptime was a breeze. We still can't believe our little guy is two, but we are loving every minute!

Better Late Than Never

The procrastination of this blog and those that follow have no correlation with their importance. I admit it, I have been slack. I have used every free minute I've had to catch up on much needed sleep, not to mention unpacking and organizing.

So to catch up. Henry had a birthday party play date in Bluffton on his birthday to celebrate with some of his friends we hadn't seen in a while. It was a lot of fun and I didn't want everyone to leave because I didn't know the next time I would see them again. The bad news, I was so busy talking, I forgot to take pictures. We did get a few at the end with Anderson and Anna but everyone else had left by then... It was a great morning and it was so sweet to spend it with such great friends- mine and Henry's!
