The Circus
Mary Kate had a circus themed birthday party last weekend to be followed by a trip to the circus in Savannah that afternoon. We had great seats, and Henry sat there for the entire 2 hours- a miracle in itself!
We let him run around during intermission and gave him a box of popcorn all to himself-another first!
He loved the lights and music, but the elephants and lions topped everything. Henry was the little boy screaming from his seat, "You see those elephants, mama!!" "Look at those lions, mama!"
Now everytime we leave the house he says "We're going to the circus, mama?" So sweet!

Finally
Finally we have been able to get outside this week. We have all enjoyed the sunshine, and spring-like weather. Jeff's mom gave us this wagon for Christmas and it conveniently fits all three children. I even got a little brave and walked the dog with them. What did we do before we had this? Lake has enjoyed the nice weather too. He likes to spend his days sunning on the back deck. This is how South Carolina should feel in the winter!

EdVenture
While we were in Sumter we got to celebrate our nephew, Carter's 4th birthday. We went to Edventure, the children's museum in Columbia. We had the best time. When I say we, I mean of course Henry had fun, but we had a lot of fun too. There is so much to do there, it is definitely worth making a trip. Henry loved the grocery store section where he could push the cart and pick up food, the farming section with the animals, and the music room that had a floor piano like the movie, BIG.
Happy Birthday, Carter!

New Years
We spent New Years at the Lake with several other couples. Two of our good friends are both doing thier residencies in Virginia and make their way to SC about once a year so we do our best to meet up with them. Dave and Jeff went to highschool and college together and Alexa and I went to college together but didn't meet until after Dave and her started dating. Alexa is pregnant with a sweet baby girl that is due in March.
Henry had a great time with all the boys and even stayed up to watch fireworks! We had a great time and loved seeing everyone!
Happy New Year!

Christmas
If I don't do this soon Easter will be here. We had our little family Christmas in Bluffton the day before Christmas Eve. We cooked a nice dinner and let Henry open his presents. He loved digging in his stocking full of goodies, but his absolute favorite was his train table. This entertains him for hours! He knows all of their names and wants to make sure you see them by saying, "You see that choo choo train, mama. That's Percy" I think Percy is his favorite.
We traveled to Sumter after a big breakfast at home and had two Christmas' that day. One with Jeff's mom"s family and one with my dad's family. It was so good seeing everyone and the food was great! Henry caught on quick to opening presents and even helped others who weren't going as fast as him. Henry got lots of cars, a big wagon, and a bike!
My dad dressed up as Santa, but Henry was a lot more nervous about this than last year. He has been talking about Santa all month, and when he finally saw him he clammed up. It took Santa holding one of his presents to coax him over. He finally warmed up.
We had two more Christmas' on Christmas Day; a nice brunch with my parents and dinner with the Jones family at Jeff's parents. We ate too much, received too much, and had too much fun! Overall it was a great Christmas!

Houdini
We definitely have an almost 2 year old on our hands! This past weekend in Sumter Henry figured out how to climb out of the pack-n-play, and yesterday he mastered his crib. There was no fall, no struggle just a simple throw over of the leg and a rather graceful drop. Don't ask me how. But as of last night night Henry is a new owner of a toddler bed. We were going to put him in the guest room, but thought his own familiar room and bed would make him more comfortable. We did our normal routine last night, put him in his new bed which we made a really big deal about, and shut the door (as of today, he doesn't know how to open those yet). He did great. He stayed in his bed, and there wasn't any loud thuds throughout the night! Hopefully naptime will be just as successful!
I will be posting pictures of this soon along with Christmas and New Years!
Oh, by the way snapfish is offering 50 4x6 prints for .50 until Thursday with the code NEWYEAR50, if anyone is interested!
